Dear friends and supporters of “Strings in Motion”,

last month, with great enthusiasm, we have completed our spring project.

Numerous of artistic-pedagogical workshops, master classes for various string instruments & chamber music as well as many successful concert events took place between May 19th and June 3rd in Dobbiaco, North Italy and Innsbruck / Salzburg, Austria.

At the same time, we had the opportunity to produce a new image film by presenting our work environment in three important EUREGIO centers – Toblach, Innsbruck and Salzburg.

The planning for our summer project in Greece is also completed – Koroni, Kardamylli and Kalamata are historic places where we will perform.

We would like to thank our supporters who are involved in this process: Austrian Embassy, University Mozarteum, Tyrolean State Conservatory, Municipality of Kalamata and the local Conservatory, Dr. Mrs. Martha Walther-Bauer, Mrs. Ariane Condelis and the Schwarz Foundation in Munich.

We are looking forward to exciting encounters!

The image film is currently being presented (until July 30) on the online platforms of the Austrian Cultural Forums (Austrian Embassies)  in Mexico and South America and also shown in various music festivals there; later we will be able to upload the video on youtube.

In the meantime, we are constantly making improvements and we are also preparing a short trailer.

STRINGS IN MOTION – Young musicians in search of the language of music

This year “Strings in Motion” celebrates its 10th anniversary; to mark this occasion we wanted to highlight with this video project the creativity and artistic dedication of the entire group. Everyone was equally involved in the design concept.

Inspired by the poem “Märchenbilder” (Fairy Tale Pictures ) by Louis du Rieux and the composition, op.113 “Märchenbilder” by Robert Schumann, we discovered the sounding beauty of language and were thrilled to work with the two actors who did the recitation of the poem. The recited verses connect like a  thread the various compositions.

Articulation, musical pulse and rhythm, as well as effects and sounds, make up the language of the music.

The selection of our repertoire is influenced by the annual regents Astor Piazzolla (100th year of birth) and Igor Stravinsky (50th year of death) but also by works of the Viennese Classical period, which is the “heart” of our musical education.
