Appreciative of a busy year 2021, we close the cycle of our activities with a concert at the Salzburg Mozarteum, solitaire, 14 December, 7 pm (poster). The focus of our program are works by Stravinsky & Piazzolla, celebrated composers of the year.

At the same time, we are planning our spring project in Dobbiaco, South Tyrol, Euregio Cultural Centre Gustav Mahler, 7 – 14 April 2022.

  • From 16th to 19th of October, the legendary pianist and artist colleague of Astor Piazzolla, Pablo Ziegler, was a guest in Innsbruck. In two intensive workshops with the ensemble “Strings in Motion” he gave insights into his Piazzolla arrangements as well as the characteristics of the Argentine musical tradition. A video recording of the workshop is currently being edited and will be posted shortly.

Cross-art video project “Strings in Motion” – Spring 2021

Title: “KLANGSPRACHE – SPRACHKLÄNGE”  STRINGS IN MOTION – Young musicians in search of the language of music

“Strings in Motion” celebrates its 10th anniversary this year; On this occasion we wanted to highlight the creativity and artistic devotion of the entire group.
All artists were equally involved in the design concept.
Inspired by the poem “Märchenbilder” by Louis du Rieux and the eponymous
composition by Robert Schumann, we discover the beauty of the sound of language, while following the two actors, who recited the poem.
The recited stanzas lead through the different compositions like a thread.
Articulation, musical pulse and rhythm, but also effects, create the language of music.
The selection of our repertoire is characterized by works of Astor Piazzolla (100.
year of birth) and Igor Stravinsky (50th year of death), but also by works of the Viennese
Classical period, that build the center of our string training.
